I am a writer and director working across film, television, and audio, with a particular passion for writing and directing bold, character-driven comedic stories.
Most recently, I directed That’s So Féis, a short film supported by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, which premiered to a rapturous reception at the Galway Film Fleadh in July 2026. Following its premiere, the trailer went viral online, introducing my work to a wide audience and cementing my reputation as an exciting new directing voice in Irish comedy.
My work in comedy has been widely recognised. My acerbic comedy Spinster went into production with the BBC and Hat Trick Productions, with Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee serving as executive producer. We went on to win the Royal Television Society Award for Best Comedy. I won a Northern Irish comedy talent search and was shortlisted for both BAFTA Rocliffe and the Female Flight Club competition. My work has also received nominations from the Royal Television Society, the National Youth Film Awards, and numerous film festivals.
I began my directing career with One for the Road, a drama I co-wrote and directed alongside people whose lives had been devastated by climate change in a small Welsh town. The film received international acclaim, screening at festivals including Norwich Film Festival, Carmarthen Bay Film Festival, and the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Lead actress Lynn Hunter (The End of the F**ing World*) won Best Actress at the prestigious Dinard Film Festival for her performance. More importantly, One for the Road became a powerful campaigning tool in the community’s fight to save their homes.
I continued my commitment to socially engaged filmmaking with A Particular Friend, a drama developed in collaboration with survivors of conversion therapy. Backed by NI Screen, I directed the film in 2023, starring Brian Milligan (Hunger) and Chris Robinson (How to Get to Heaven from Belfast). The film screened at festivals internationally and received the RE Fund from the Inside Out Festival.
